Lunar New Year Myths and Legends

Hi everyone!

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival. We're about to enter the Year of the Water Tiger.

Lunar New Year is a 15-day celebration of the start of a new year in the Chinese lunar calendar. The festivities have been observed for some 3,500 years. The traditions and practices are rooted in myths and legends.

Please check out my latest blog post on the folklore behind the festival. The post includes fun feng shui dos and don'ts to ensure you start off the new year on the right foot.

Review

I wanted to share this lovely review that popped up recently on Amazon. I always appreciate receiving reader reviews and ratings. Reviews provide constructive feedback and also help to make a book more visible, so thank you!

Book News

The Geomancer's Apprentice will be a year old this Friday, Feb. 4. I can't believe how time has flown. It's been such a wonderful experience.

To celebrate the book's birthday, I've refreshed the covers for both The Geomancer's Apprentice and The Forgotten Guardian. The new covers can be seen on my author website at https://www.yinleong.com/. The changes are subtle, especially for The Forgotten Guardian, but I think they're a definite improvement.

In addition, I'll be issuing a new blog piece Feb. 4 to talk about what I've learned so far about the publishing business. I'll include the piece in the next newsletter.

In other news, I've written an article describing what a geomancer does. Please take a look.

I've started writing the third Geomancer's Apprentice book. What will Joe and Junie's new mystery involve? I will only say that it's set in a museum.

The book is coming along, albeit slowly. I'll share more information as the writing progresses (but no spoilers, I promise!).

Feng Shui Tip

This newsletter is relatively new, and continuing to evolve. I'm introducing a new feature that I think you will like. Every newsletter will end with a feng shui tip of the day from Joe and Junie.

Today's Tip: Feng shui is internal as well as external. Think good thoughts to help generate positive energy around you.

As always, happy reading!
